01 Overview

This policy explains how DeadlineDay handles information when you use the iOS app and this website. DeadlineDay is operated by Kyle Goslan. For privacy questions or requests, email kylegoslan@me.com.

This website is a static GitHub Pages site. DeadlineDay does not place advertising or analytics cookies on it. GitHub may process technical request information to deliver and secure GitHub Pages under GitHub's Privacy Statement.

02 Information we handle

Information stored on your device

DeadlineDay stores upcoming deadline data, your alert choices, notification and alarm preferences, onboarding status and a local subscription-entitlement snapshot. This allows the app, widgets and alerts to keep working without a DeadlineDay account and during temporary network outages.

Deadline and configuration requests

The app retrieves deadline records and feature configuration from Google Firebase. Those services may process technical request data such as IP address, app version, device information and Firebase installation identifiers to deliver, protect and operate the service.

Optional usage analytics

If you choose to allow analytics, Firebase Analytics processes app interaction events such as app launches, alert setup, paywall views and purchase-flow outcomes. These events help us understand whether DeadlineDay's core flows work. We do not use this information for cross-app advertising or sell it to data brokers.

Optional crash diagnostics

When diagnostic reporting is enabled, Firebase Crashlytics may process crash stack traces, app state, app and operating-system versions, device model and installation identifiers. This information is used to diagnose failures and improve alarm reliability. We do not attach your name or email address to crash reports.

Subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Apple. DeadlineDay uses RevenueCat to check whether DeadlineDay Pro is active. Apple and RevenueCat may process an anonymous app user identifier, purchase history, subscription status, product information, locale and currency. DeadlineDay does not receive or store your payment-card or Apple Account credentials.

03 How information is used

  • Display, cache and update upcoming deadlines.
  • Schedule the alerts and persistent deadline surfaces you choose.
  • Confirm and restore DeadlineDay Pro access.
  • Diagnose crashes and reliability failures.
  • Measure core app flows when optional analytics is enabled.
  • Protect the app and services from abuse and comply with legal obligations.

Where UK or European data-protection law applies, we rely on the following legal bases: your consent for optional analytics and diagnostic reporting; performance of a contract to process and restore a subscription; our legitimate interests in delivering, securing and improving a reliable deadline service; and compliance with legal obligations where we must retain or disclose information.

Providing optional analytics and diagnostics is not a condition of using DeadlineDay. The app does not use personal information for automated decisions or profiling that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

05 Service providers

We share information only as needed with service providers that help operate DeadlineDay. Their processing is governed by their respective terms and privacy commitments:

We do not sell or rent personal information. DeadlineDay does not use third-party advertising SDKs or track you across other companies' apps and websites for advertising.

06 Retention and deletion

Information stored locally remains on your device until you change the relevant setting, clear the app's data or uninstall DeadlineDay. Firebase Crashlytics normally retains crash data and associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning removal. Analytics and purchase records are retained according to the configured service periods and the providers' legal and operational requirements.

Because DeadlineDay has no account, we may not be able to associate an anonymous service record with you without a relevant installation or purchase identifier. You can still contact us to request access, correction or deletion. We will assess the request and instruct the relevant processor where we can identify the data and are legally permitted to remove it.

07 Your choices and rights

  • You can decline optional analytics and diagnostic reporting.
  • You can later disable either option in DeadlineDay Settings, which stops future optional collection.
  • You can disable notifications, alarms and Live Activities in the app or iOS Settings.
  • You can remove locally stored DeadlineDay information by uninstalling the app.
  • You may contact us to exercise applicable privacy rights, including access, correction, deletion, restriction or objection.

You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact us using the address below and we will consider your circumstances and the applicable legal requirements.

Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal or information that must be retained for legal obligations.

If you are in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.

08 International processing

Our service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where required, information is protected through the safeguards and data-processing terms offered by those providers.

09 Children's privacy

DeadlineDay is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly ask children to provide personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

10 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when DeadlineDay's features, providers or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of the policy identifies the latest version. Material changes will be communicated in the app or through another appropriate channel.
